Andy Ethridge and his family were in the forming and finishing business for many
years. In 1994, he made a decision to begin a ready-mix concrete operation that
is known today as Heard County Concrete. A used 4 yard plant and 4 trucks
were purchased and production of concrete started in October 1994.
The company has grown steadily since that time, adding more trucks,
equipment and staff.
In 2002, Highway 27 was converted from a 2 lane road to a 4 lane road.
At that time, we were forced to relocate on our existing property to allow for
that expansion. We built all new facilities and added a 10 yard batch plant.
In October 2003, we expanded further adding a location in Wedowee, Alabama known as
Randolph County Concrete. A new 10 yard batch plant and 5 trucks were placed at this
location to meet the growing demand for concrete in that area.
In 2007, both locations were converted to computer controlled batching systems.
Both locations are DOT certified with certified technicians and batch men on staff.
We now have a total fleet of over 20 trucks to serve our surrounding communities.
